A Performing Presence

Starting first as a jazz player in her childhood and getting experience on that field since her early years, Chernakova later graduated in Moscow at the Tchaikovsky Conservatory as a classical musician. There she had the chance to have classes from  the renowned bassist Rustem Gabdullin.

After performing as a member of symphonic orchestras and participating in classical concerts, Daria became one of those rare players who can work their musicianship in two worlds  with recognized talent from both sides: classical and jazz.

Nowadays she goes further expanding her horizons in Brazilian music, Afro-Cuban and Folk. All these elements above

can be found on her personal way of playing the bass resulting also in inspired compositions and arrangements of her own.

Chernakova shared the stage as a jazz musician with:

Jerry Bergonzi, Will Vinson, Gregory Hutchinson, Alex Sipiagin, Grant Stewart, Conrad Herwig, Randy Brecker, Jeb Patton, Victor Lewis, Gil Goldstein, Ari Hoenig, Marcos Valle, Daniel Marques, Celso Fonseca, Fabio Gouvea, John Marshall, Godwin Louis, Sam Newsome, Baptiste Herbin. In Moscow she played with  Russian musicians such as German Lukianov, Yakov Okun, Vagif Sadikhov, Alexey Chernakov, Yuliana Rogacheva.

In 2019 Daria went to Brasil to record her own music under her own name for the BLAXTREAM label. The album contains 7 compositions of Daria, recorded with the world famous brasilian musicians: Andre Marques, Diego Garbin, Rodrigo Ursaia, Fabio Gouvea, Cleber Almeida. This album "Maracujá" will be released in June in Brasil.
